What's the Secret to The Secret?

Did you see Oprah on Thursday? So what happened with Rhonda Byrne that she was able to bring so many people together to create the mass appeal that so many people have been talking about individually for so long? Why are those of us who are attracted to the message of The Secret so passionate about this information?

What I know from seeing the process of bringing the production of the movie together is that that power is in each of us - and if we all put our heads together around one higher intention, look what can happen!

That's why I love blogging so much. I haven't met most of the people I consider "friends" from my blog (at least not in person), yet I feel so much connection with them all across the world.

What is missing when we have things in our lives that don't seem to work? Is it conviction? Is it confidence? Is it resignation? Is it cynicism? What causes our "glass half empty" mindset?

Here is my vision board - this is what I look at every day and focus on to bring into my life. What is your vision board? Do you know what you want in your life? Are you doing what it takes to bring that to you? As we learn from Michael Beckwith - we need first to be grateful for what we currently have so we can open ourselves to what is in store for us.

What are your thoughts about The Secret? It's certainly not new information, but what's new is how it is impacting us today, in 2007, and how it will impact us in the future we are allowing.

Great post Jodee.

Do you know what you want in your life?
Are you doing what it takes to bring that to you?

I put those questions to coaching clients, with a business twist.

Sadly most people know more about what they don't want, than what they do.

Being appreciative and grateful is the other big issue. We have become so used to "having" so much that we don't appreciate where we've come from and what we've got, that when we get what we envision we aren't satisfied.

Oh .. my vision board is on my screen saver and is the screen background on my desktop as well.

Thank you so much for your comments here! I love the way you ask your questions of your clients. I use a similar model and, through my spiritual study (A Course in Miracles) I'm also learning and practicing being an objective observer with the questions. Yes, more people seem to be focusing on what they don't want, but as we start shifting that, I sense big shifts on the horizon!

My vision board is also the screen background on my desktop; and I'm realizing that I need to clean up my icons because it's very difficult to see everything there!

Thank you again for visiting - and for being who you're being in the world!

I love your vision board, Jodee. I was thinking as I was re-watching the Secret the other day that I haven't made one in a while, and it's time again to have some fun with it.

What I love most about the Secret, and especially the Secret appearing on Oprah, is that so many people now have been introduced to the Law of Attraction.

I've been feeling the ripple effect of this in my own life. Maybe it's just me, but it seems as if the world is a brighter, more positive place. On a more personal level, the Secret has really opened up life for some people I really care about. That has been wonderful, and seeing the changes in them has been astounding.

(Plus, it's nice to have more people to talk about this kind of thing with!)

Thanks so much for your comments! I'm so glad The Secret is making a difference in your life and the lives of those around you. I, too, see the effects everywhere - and know that my community of friends has grown because of our collective interest in bigger small talk, thanks to what we know about The Secret!

Consciously or subconsciously we all knew the secret & we have been living with it for all our lives. However what Rhonda & her team have done is that, they have made all of us aware of this fact. I don’t know if the secret will help me achieve all the things that I desire but yes since I have watched the movie I am feeling good & it seems like everything happening around me is great & it will be so for the rest of my life.

I work with a non-profit organization Blog The Bible, where we discuss all the things which can make you happy & also relate to Jesus & Bible at the same time. I think if The Secret can generate the same happiness within all of us then there is no harm in believing the Law of Attraction.

We all have experienced it, whenever we feel good & happy we think of god, we think of Jesus, we think of Bible. So I would say that no matter what everybody thinks but this DVD has surely brought me close Jesus, Bible & at last Happiness.

Sydney: Thank you so much for visiting and sharing your comments. We already do know this stuff - and when we can connect with that Truth for ourselves, it's so very powerful! That's why I love The Secret so much. It's not really a secret, but it just reminds us of what we already know!

Hi there

I'm a psychic .. sacramentopsychics.com . I was at a fair doing readings most of the day on Saturday, and noticed that a lot of the people had shifted their energy, if they had seen the Secret, or in many cases had only just heard about it. It is good to make this information more mainstream. Paula

Everything seems so powerful within us all the time after reading this book. When i told about this book to one of my dear frinds & ask him to try this, he said i will beleive all this if i get a rose within a few days (Considering the fact that Valentines Day has just passed away)

He started thinking of it all the morning positively & in the evening i got a call from him, saying that i have to believe you my frind because just now my little daughter came & said that Mom was throwing away the rose basket you gifted her on valentines day & she saw that one rose was still looking fresh & she picked that up for me & atlast i have a rose in my hand week after Valentines has passed.

Isint this amazing! These are small things but when you beleive them it can really change your life.

Thanks again,

Paula: I'm so glad you can actually notice the shift in people's energy! What a great testament to the power of our thoughts!! Sydney: I know this stuff works (it says so on my vision board somewhere!) - thank you for sharing your friend's experience with the rose. You're right - if you believe them it really can (and does) change your life!

My vision board experience has been fantastic. Ever since I read the

free report by Bob Proctor I've been getting so much success with my

daily routine of focusing on my vision board. The results have been

mind blowing. Pick a copy of your own free report here. You won't be

disappointed:

I am on my way in 2 weeks to be certified with Bob Proctor in Florida, so I'm sure I will get lots of resources and ideas to bring this idea of vision boarding and visualization much more alive! Thanks for sharing your comments and suggestions here!

I love your post about the vision board. I have been studying the Law of Attraction for quite a while and have read some really good books on the subject. My favorite so far is Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn GrabHorn. It was a very exciting book that has changed my life. Another great book was by Grace Terry called Prosperity Guaranteed. It has also changed my life.

I fully believe in the power of vision boards! So much so, that I made my own online vision board - http://catalogofdreams.com

Thanks again for the post!

I've found the coolest and most effective tool to help with the visualization process - a great vision board software called Mind Movies Creator.

It was created by Ryan Higgins to help others visualize and manifest the life of their dreams. See a video and find out why here http://www.squidoo.com/vision-board-software

A Mind Movie allows you to create a vision of what you want, together with your Favorite song… the one that makes you feel good, the one that makes you want to dance, the one that makes you smile and sing along.

It’s like a 3 minute slide show/movie of your perfect life.

I’m trying it out now.

I’m having fun making my own vision board/mind movie.

And because it’s a software, no need to cut up magazines!

Thanks.

I teach English to high school age deaf students and plan to have them create vision boards rather than my usual New Year's Resolution activity that I've done in the past. I'm working on mine now, to have as an example. I'm always looking for new, creative ways to encourage them to use English (written words), which is a struggle since ASL is their first language choice. I'd appreciate any suggestions people may have as far as introducing and carrying out this Vision Board activity.
